The Twelve Steps of Sinner’s Anonymous
- We
acknowledged our wretched human condition apart from God, and realize that
without moment by moment Divine Intervention, we cannot live the full and
abundant life that He wants us to live.
- Came
to believe that God through Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy
Spirit will provide all the power necessary to live an abundant,
fruit-bearing, life.
- Made a
decision to turn our will and lives over to the care and direction of God.
- Made a
rigorously honest, searching and fearless inventory of ourselves.
- Admitted
to God, ourselves, and another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
- Were
entirely ready and willing that God remove all these defects of character.
- Humbly
asked God to remove our shortcomings, so that we may become more useful to
Him.
- Made a
list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to
them all.
- Made
direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would
injure them or others.
- Continued
to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
- Sought
through prayer, meditation, studying God’s Word, and the continuous
renewing of our minds to improve our relationship with God.
- Having
had a spiritual awakening as a result of God working in our lives through
these steps, we tried to carry this message to sinners, and to practice
these principles in all our affairs.
